| Contest loc. in EA8 - Location of the contest workplace | | LOCATION OF THE CONTEST WORKPLACE EF8M In May, 2009 between RD3AF and EA8AH the transaction of sale and purchase has been made, on which RD3AF has got the ground area (with radio station and antennas) for accommodation own contest positions on island Grand Canaria. | Canary Islands - the islands of a volcanic origin stretched by an arch more than on 500 km near to the African coast of Atlantic.
The archipelago consists of seven large manned islands and the several small.
In the centre there is the largest island - Tenerife. In the west there are islands La Gomera, El Hierro and La Palma.

| Contests position EF8M is approximately 1.5 km south of the city center Maria de Guia, near the top of a steep slope, at an altitude of 410 m. The coordinates of the station: latitude - 65 28''07'47 N; longitude: - 15''38'10 84 W. | | |
For contests position panoramic view of the entire northern coast of Gran Canaria and with good reason be regarded as one of the best contests positions in North Africa, if not worldwide, thanks to their high dielectric properties of the earth's surface (volcanic) and a very steep 250 m slopes in the direction of America, Europe and Africa.
